Thoughts from a Random Mind

Having Jesus Christ as Lord means acknowledging Him as the ultimate authority and ruler of your life, not just a savior from sin. It involves your complete surrender to His will, recognizing His teachings as true, insightful and worth knowing.  We are also to strive to live according to Christ’s example. These actions represent a shift in allegiance from self to Christ, embracing His guidance and Lordship in every aspect of your life.

To say "Jesus is Lord" is to declare that He is above all other authorities, powers, or desires. It implies a willingness to submit your own will, desires, and plans to His, trusting that His way is the best way, even when it's not what you might choose for yourself. It means striving to live according to Jesus' teachings and example, seeking to love God and love (and not judge) others as He did.

Accepting Jesus as Lord often involves a turning away from sinful patterns of behavior and a desire to be transformed into His likeness. It’s the Holy Spirit who is able to aid in overcoming the sin that exists in your life. While you make a declaration of His Lordship over your life, it's also a personal relationship where you trust Him as your Savior and seek to live in close connection with Him. Remember, John 4:8a states the following: “Come close to God, and God will come close to you.” This is all part of Jesus being not only the Savior of your soul, but the Lord of your life. Until next time, walk with the King & be a blessing.

In His Name & for His Glory,
