Thoughts From a Random Mind

In my study on Eternal Security, a point came up that I never thought of. God refers to us as “Children of God” once we receive salvation. John 1:12-13 says: “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the authority to become children of God, to those who believe into His name, who were begotten…of God.”

With certain immoral exceptions which we will not go into right now, parents don’t kick their children out in the street. Since we are God’s children, we’ve been grafted into God’s family, and I see nowhere in scripture where God reneges on that promise. The only way you can NOT be a part of His family after your conversion is if you decide to jump out of His hand and walk away from your faith.

Like the prodigal son from the Old Testament, even then you can return, as His love for you never changes.

For all the people who were abused growing up, how nice would it be to rest in the arms of a loving Heavenly Father. While that may be figurative language, it creates a mental picture that is comforting. God has His entire creation at His disposal to bless His children, so don’t think for one moment that He is unable to meet your every need. I fully believe that if something that didn’t yet exist was needed, He would think nothing of creating it. We serve an awesome God.

So if you are seriously saved and seeking to imitate Christ in your daily life, there is no reason to ever doubt that you are now a citizen of heaven. Hell isn’t a destination found on your eternal ticket.

Like real children, we will say and do dumb things and stumble around, but just as our earthly parents will always love you, so will your Heavenly Father.  Until next time, walk with the King & be a blessing.

In His Name & for His Glory,
