Thoughts from a Random Mind

When you first believed in Jesus, you were saved. But after a while, perhaps because you sinned or failed God in some way, maybe you began to question whether it’s possible to lose your salvation.

A genuine believer in the Lord Jesus shouldn’t be tormented by this question. The Bible tells us that once we believe in Jesus Christ, we can never lose our salvation. There is no doubt that many believers are unintentionally ignorant on this subject. This study is designed to quell any fears you may have about your future destination after you die. My own wife was in doubt about whether she would go to heaven or not because of ways she may have acted or things she may have said. God doesn’t work that way. I assured her that besides seeking salvation itself, there is nothing we MUST DO to secure our eternal destination. When it says that He loves us without conditions placed upon that love that is exactly what it means. Do we disappoint the Lord at times? I can honestly say I really don’t know. We get disappointed in ourselves at times, but does God? I’m inclined to say NO, because He knows us so well. He knows what we’re going to think, say, and/or do before we think, say, and/or do it, so as a result is surprised by none of it. You are eternally loved. 

“Genuine faith in Jesus is not simply a one-time profession, but a lifelong journey marked by a growing relationship with Christ, transformation of character, and perseverance in faith. Indeed, the question of apostasy underscores the necessity of such sincere, enduring faith.” ^[1]

Because of our conversion, if we are sincere in our quest for forgiveness and intend to pursue that journey to the end, we will slowly become inclined to follow God’s Word and seek to enhance our relationship with our Lord until the day we are promoted to glory.
